Liveconcertpics.com is the brainchild of Jason Squires, Kansas City's premier entertainment photographer. Since 1998, Jason has specialized in the art of live concert photography. His hefty list of 200+ live acts spans the gamut of today's music scene. Ranging from metal to country to pop, with such diverse acts as Korn to Alan Jackson to Christina Aguilera--chances are if they've toured he's shot them. As Primary House Photographer for Clear Channel Entertainment at their 7 Kansas City venues, Jason has perfected the art of capturing the energy and emotion of live events. It's those very elements that originally drew Jason to concert photography and continues to motivate his desire and determination today. Jason personally experiences the overwhelming rush that comes from a live performance. As a result, he is dedicated and determined to capture those moments and share that excitement with an audience that craves the need for a live concert through a photographic image. Jason's photography is so capturing that media outlets such as RollingStone.com, Rolling Stone Magazine, WireImage.com, Pollstar, Entertainment Weekly Online, ConcertLiveWire.com, SonyMusic, Newsweek, Blender, Lollapalooza, MTV, Columbia Records and the top Kansas City radio stations are just a few of his clients. All have embraced and featured his photography publicity, on-line and in print. Along with shooting concerts, he's often hired for corporate events for such high profile clients like Verizon Wireless, Tim Reynolds for TR Music and Roger Glover of Deep Purple. Even still, Jason takes the time to cover many local rock-star charity events. The bottom line is it's passion that drives Jason Squires' photography. It is that drive that takes him from coast to coast, state to state, photographing shows in bars, amphitheaters, stadiums or maybe even in someone's backyard if that's what it takes to get THE shot.

"Jason Squires has freelanced for myself and Rolling Stone.com for several years. In the course of that brief time, it has been a pleasure to work with a talent such as himself. Whether it is shooting Farm Aid, the Bridge School Benefit or Stone Temple Pilots, Jason always delivered us with exciting images. In my experience, Jason has demonstrated that high level of technical and artistic proficiency in the challenging and often chaotic role that is concert photographer. Jason Squires has always represented Rolling Stone.com with a high degree of professionalism and is always a pleasure to work with. I hope to continue that professional relationship and look forward to seeing where and what he will achieve in the future. Rock photography is one of those unique and specialty fields. You either have it or you don't and I can say with high confidence Jason Squires is one of those chosen few that do."

"Jason Squires is the best photographer I have ever worked with! He goes above and beyond the call of duty to get the perfect shot. While most photographers that I work with stand in one spot, Jason is running back and forth in front of the stage to capture the moment! Hands down, there is no other photographer I'd rather work with!"

"I love working with Jason Squires. His photos are unique in that they have soul and he is just so easy to work with. Jason is not your typical pushy egomaniacal photographer, he appreciates what he does and who he does it for. "Jason can I get some photos of..." -- "Sure." "Jason can I get a bigger photo of...." -- "I'll send it right over." He will make your life beautiful and worry-free, skip the face lift and hire Jason, he actually prevents wrinkles!"

Since an early age, light has always fascinated me. I can remember making a pinhole camera out of a coffee can when I was 10. Ironically, the simplicity of the "camera" allowed me to see how complex light really was. In the simplest terms, photography is nothing more than a measurement of light--the camera is the instrument and the film or digital media is where the results are recorded.

To me, nothing is more spectacular than the lights seen at a live musical performance. The stage lights aren't only there to illuminate the performer--they serve a much more important purpose. Lights at a concert are primarily there to stimulate your visual sense, thus heightening your concert experience.

My job is to capture the interaction of light and performer. I'm an entertainment photographer.
